Synopsis: Dingbats
ruin a wedding.
Blurb From the VHS
Jacket: “THE SWEETEST THING puts a totally fresh twist on the search for
true love.”
What Did I Learn?:
1) Maggot-infested old food apparently smells like “mouldy ass.” 2) There's always time for a movie montage.

Movie If: You're not sure if you really want to find...the sweetest thing.
Really?: 1) wait –
Cristina (Cameron Diaz), Courtney (Cristina Applegate) and Jane (Selma Blair)
are, respectively, a public relations guru, a divorce lawyer and a high-end
clothing store manager? Sorry, but based upon their behaviour and dialogue, I
wouldn’t trust any of them to flip burgers properly. And gee....if they’re all
successful career women, why do they need to share an apartment together? 2) I had a bit of trouble believing a tinfoil swan could fly as well as it did after being thrown from a moving car.
Rating: If you enjoy watching hot chicks take pratfalls and otherwise behave like adolescents during spring break, you might get a kick out of The Sweetest Thing. Diaz, Applegate and Blair do their best with the material (it's hard to dislike these girls), but the humour is pretty juvenile and dopey. The Sweetest Thing isn't quite a bad movie, but it's not exactly Oscar material, either. 6/10 stars.
